1. Who Are YOU? Clearly state your name and sum up your products or services right on the homepage.

2. A simple, sensible web address. Don’t make things complicated or use alphabet soup letters that can’t be communicated easily on the phone.

3. Simple menu/navigation: Clear links to the most important pages are crucial for guiding visitors to the information they’re looking for. Miss this one and your visitors are gone.. in a click!

4. Contact information that’s right there. Link at the top right corner of the home page, and contact info page that includes phone, e-mail, a standard contact form, and link to your location in Google maps.

5. Customer testimonials/ honest words from others. It will help you sell.

6. An obvious call to action: Free quote, or sign up, or shop now are all good.

7. Smart keywords throughout your text, plenty of links, naming your page titles and URLs correctly, and using images and videos properly.

8. Fresh, quality content that’s updated regularly, a blog or new info are all needed to search well.

9. Secure, trustworthy hosting company to keep your site safe and content management system updated constantly.

10. Design and text that’s friendly to online readers who don’t have time nor much interest in reading.

• Break things down into short paragraphs

• Use bullet points

• Highlight important words or phrases.

11. Google analytics installed and reviewed regularly. It’s free and a treasure trove of marketing information. You can see how many hits, how long they stayed, what pages they clicked on, where they left your site.. and oodles more. Did I mention it was free?

This site is primarily a photo showcase for our client, Christopher JP Collins, Architect, R.A., AIA, LEED-AP, a residential and commercial architect, located on Warwick NY.

The site is clean, with lots of white space an lots of wonderful photos of his work, ranging from additions, new construction, commercial building re-purposing to awesome playhouses!

Easy navigation leads to many different portfolios, which are programmed to automatically begin and present his work in slide show format.

This place has everything, from all RX and over the counter drugs to shoe laces and greeting cards. A real, honest to goodness Main Street store. Plus, they deliver. Yes, really. You can stay in your jammies, and they’ll bring the Nyquil or whatever… right to you!

You want a new or renewed website. How can you get one?
With thousands of website designers and developers, from individual freelancers to huge agencies, how do you choose the right web design and website development company?

There are many things to consider. The first step: visit their websites.
Here is our Portfolio.

Do you like the navigation system?
Are the pages available with no broken links? Typos?
How does the site do in Google, Bing, Yahoo when you search for their product in their geographic area ( example: website design Orange County NY)
Can the site be viewed on small smart phones and large monitors? It it scalable/responsive?
Is the overall design consistent and nice? Do all their sites look alike?
Can the phone number and contact page be found easily?
Are details about the company including location, services offered, the staff and more easy to find?
Are things aligned properly?
Is the text easy to read?
Do the pages load fast?
Is a lot of scrolling required?
Is there a portfolio with active links so you can view real live sites?
