Why are Landing Pages so Important?
Not all of your website visitors will find your website’s home page. Often, they enter mid-site, so you need to be ready for them. A well designed and search engine optimized website is constructed to funnel traffic through multiple entry points or landing pages.
If your business offers different types of services, each service needs a unique page so it can be found on a basic internet search. This page can have information, photos, prices, even text about how your service or product can solve a problem.
How many Landing Pages does my Website Need?
If you offer only one service, you need one landing page for that service. But, if you’re like DevineDesign, and you offer numerous services, you need a page per service. We offer six distinct services: Website Design, Website Hosting, Website Updates, SEO, Graphic and Print Design and Logo Design. You’ll see that each service has its own landing page. Bottom line: Each and every service you provide needs its own landing page.
Don’t Forget to Post!
Your website’s blog provides you an opportunity to create relevant content for your customers. A blog/news post about a specific service might also bring visitors to your site, so be sure to link that post to a landing page so visitors can read more, and hopefully purchase your service! For example, we design websites. We have a landing page for website design. Click here to read more about our website design on our website design landing page. We also have a blog and some posts that discuss websites design, like these: Website Design Hudson Valley NY, WordPress Websites, and Small Business Website Design. Each of these has original info and links BACK to our Website Design landing page. Easy and effective.
Great for Your Ranking, Too
Posting is also great for your social media page. An interesting and relevant post gives your followers a reason to click through to your website. Blogging is good for SEO because it helps with a number of things that are important ranking factors. When you have a blog that’s updated regularly with blog posts that are high quality and on topics relevant to your audience, it can make a huge difference to how your overall website performs in the search engines. A page per service that you offer is imperative. While you don’t want to gum up your website with lots of unnecessary pages, you do need to let search engines find what you’re offering. This is best done by providing a clear navigational structure that includes landing pages that are relevant to your business.
